Description

This postal series was created by the enigmatic French artist James Colomina, who, “to condemn the injustice of this war and to demonstrate unwavering support for the Ukrainian people,” installed five red sculptures in Kyiv in 2024 for Independence Day.
The postage stamps feature the artist’s works located on Maidan Nezalezhnosti:
“The Messenger” – on the façade of the main post office building;
“The Dove” – on a lamppost near the memorial to the Heroes who died for Ukraine;
“The Girl on a Swing” – on the Alley of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred.
