Description
The official First Day cancellation will take place in Kyiv, with special cancellations across all regions. The Day of Remembrance of Ukraine’s Defenders, established on August 29, 2019, is tied to the Ilovaisk tragedy. Its symbol, the sunflower, marks the path of the “green corridor.” Every day at 9:00 a.m., Ukrainians honor the fallen with a minute of silence — hence the name of the issue, “A Minute of Silence.”
The stamps feature works by artist Serhiy Maidukov depicting memorial sites in Lviv and Kyiv, accompanied by lines from Lina Kostenko that deepen the feeling of sorrow and respect.
